The Royal Lancers and Covid-19

20 April 2020

Our affiliated army regiment, the Royal Lancers, spent the first part of the year preparing for deployment in the Baltic and Balkans over the next two years. However, along with the rest of the country, the Regiment has had their plans altered by the emergence of Coronavirus and in March the Regiment was rapidly re-orientated, restructured and retrained to respond to the COVID-19 epidemic. This involved important specialist driver and medical training, taking over a new fleet of vehicles and, in line with advice from Public Health England, dispersing squadrons so that they remain ready to respond. It is unclear what the next few months will bring, but the Regiment stands ready to assist however required.

For now, their focus remains on keeping the team safe and providing the very best support efforts to counter the pandemic. All of us at the Brewers’ Company wish them the very best.
