Charles Wells Win Beer Tasting Competition 2018

We were delighted to welcome eleven teams to participate in our annual Beer Tasting Competition at Brewers' Hall last week.

A regular fixture in our annual calendar since its inception in collaboration with the Meantime Brewing Company in 2013, this year our ever popular beer tasting evening went back to its roots. Having emerged victorious in last year's competition, which was presented by Budweiser Budvar, the team from Meantime returned as quiz masters and all-round beer know-it-alls for this year's event. With everything from pilsners and pale ales to porters and imperial stouts, and a couple of sneaky weisse beers thrown in for good measure, the quiz was as fiendishly challenging as it has ever been. The quizmasters even snuck in a few beers brewed by participating teams to see if they would spot them.

As always, it was a close fought battle but it was the team from Charles Wells who came out on top in the end. Joint second place went to the Master's team and the team from Dame Alice Owen's School - clearly their years of drinking beer at Brewers' Company events have paid off!

We are very grateful to Meantime for their support this year and to all of the participating breweries who made it such a fun evening. We are already looking forward to next year's competition...
