Beer Tasting Competition 2019

23 September 2019

We were thrilled to welcome teams from our member breweries and schools to another exciting Beer Tasting Competition at Brewers' Hall this month. Now a mainstay in our annual calendar, this event was established in partnership with Meantime Brewing Company in 2013. This year, 2018's victors Wells & Co were the quizmasters and gave us a challenging and enjoyable series of questions about eight different beers.

The teams vied to see who could determine whether one beer was flavoured with blackberries or plums, if another was brewed in England or Germany, or if another was manufactured by reverse osmosis or arrested fermentation. The questions were all thought provoking and inspired some passionate debates between team mates! At the end of the evening the Master, Simon Theakston, was delighted to declare the team from Tring Brewery the winners, with Hook Norton Brewery coming in a close second.

We are very grateful to Wells & Co for supporting this year's event and to everyone who came along to join in the fun.
