Beadle completes Castle Trek
We are very proud of our Beadle, James Fitzgerald, who recently participated in Castle Trek: a charity walk from Windsor Castle to Edinburgh Castle in aid of the Household Cavalry Foundation and the Royal British Legion. The Castle Trek crew was made up of serving and ex-serving soldiers and civilians who worked in teams to collectively walk the 480-mile route between 29 July and 7 August. At the start of the trek James, who was a member of the Household Cavalry for 29 years before joining the Brewers’ Company in 2016, said “I truly believe in what the team are doing for both charities. I’m here to facilitate their aim, and to mitigate any problems which may arise on the way to achieving their final goal.”
While passing through Yorkshire, the team was thrilled to receive some delicious Theakston’s Pale Ale from the Master (pictured) to keep them going. They were also treated to a visit to Tring Brewery courtesy of Liveryman Richard Shardlow. These enjoyable diversions helped to keep morale up through some long and soggy days (and nights) of walking! James is extremely grateful to all of the Liverymen who supported him and the team.
