Awarding grants for students

Shortly before Christmas, the Brewers' Company held interviews for the EH Thompson Awards which are given to former students of Dame Alice Owen’s School to assist them with their higher education. The EH Thompson Bequest, which is one of the many charities administered by the Brewers' Company, provides grants for books, equipment and general purposes to allow students to take full advantage of their time at university. In addition to these awards, the charity also provides grants for the provision of prizes and the language exchange at DOAS. The Headteacher and Chair of Governors joined the panel which met with the students to discuss their applications and their life after DAOS. The panel was very pleased with the standard of applications and made awards to five applicants.
