The Virtual Tap Room Reopens

31 March 2022

Our members returned to the virtual Tap Room last week for the opportunity to come together and sample some wonderful beers with friends.

Initiated during the first lockdowns in 2020, the Brewers’ Company virtual Tap Room Chats provided a fantastic opportunity for members of the Livery to keep in touch when in-person events were not possible. We have been delighted to be able to welcome members back in recent months, with a number of very enjoyable events taking place and it has been wonderful to meet face to face once again. However, the virtual Tap Room has not closed permanently and on 23 March the Master hosted an online get together and beer tasting.

Attendees were treated to samples of Curious Lager from Curious Brew, The Right Stuff from Hepworth & Co, Hogstar Lager from Hogs Back Brewery, Red Rye from Hook Norton Brewery, Mad Goose from Purity Brewing Co and SHOUT! Session Pale Ale from Windsor and Eton Brewery. Throughout the evening the brewers shared the story of their beer with small groups of attendees in breakout sessions and much interesting knowledge was imparted (and good beer enjoyed!).

We are very pleased to be able to continue this virtual event which really puts the spotlight on “The Mystery or Art of Brewing Ale or Beer” – the purpose of the Brewers’ Company since its formal incorporation in 1438. We are grateful to all of the brewers who supplied their beer and expertise for the event and especially to Windsor and Eton Brewery for their logistical support.
