The Summer Dinner and a Very Special Piano Performance

09 June 2025

Anisa Ford with James and Emma Staughton

On 4 June we hosted our Summer Dinner for Liverymen and their partners at Brewers’ Hall.

In addition to having the opportunity to celebrate the start of summer with our members, we were delighted to provide the opportunity for guests to enjoy a very special piano performance by Anisa Ford (pictured above with Past Master, James Staughton, and his wife Emma). Thirteen year old Anisa is a Year 8 student at Dame Alice Owen’s School who taught herself to play the piano at home during Lockdown. She has recently appeared as a contestant on Channel 4’s The Piano (Series 3). She opened the show with the first episode, which aired on 13 April 2025 and was chosen to perform in the final concert.

Anisa’s beautiful performance of The Skylark by Mikhail Glinka, Fantaisie-Impromptu by Frédéric Chopin, The Nightingale by Franz Liszt and Thoughts of the Past by Shardad Rouhani was the highlight of a wonderful evening and was a testament to the outstanding musical talent which is being nurtured at Dame Alice Owen’s School. You can find Anisa on Instagram, and see her performance, @anisafordpiano.
