"Outstanding Ale" Celebrates Owens' Achievement

Hertfordshire brewer McMullens has produced a special, celebratory ale to commemorate the “Outstanding” Ofsted result achieve by Dame Alice Owen’s School.

The Ofsted inspection, which took place in December 2023, concluded that Dame Alice Owen’s School was Outstanding in all areas with no points for improvement. To help them celebrate, bottles of McMullens “Outstanding Ale” were given to the staff team, some of whom are pictured above with Dame Alice Owen herself watching over them.

Fergus McMullen, Brewers’ Company Middle Warden and Production & Sales Director at McMullens, said: “Through the Brewers’ Company, I have had the opportunity to be involved in the governance of this extraordinary school and have seen first-hand the hard work and dedication of the staff. Brewers have been part of the School’s history going all the way back to its foundation in 1613, so it seems only fitting to celebrate their “Outstanding” Ofsted result by raising a glass of Outstanding Ale.”
