HM the Queen Visits the Royal Lancers

On Monday 22 April Her Majesty The Queen visited the Brewers’ Company’s affiliated Regiment, the Royal Lancers, for the first time at their home in Catterick Garrison.
The Queen inspected her Regiment before presenting Buchan Medals and reviewing the Shand Tunic Exhibition, which displayed a jacket worn by her father, Major Bruce Shand, when he served as a 12th Lancer during the Second World War, twice winning the Military Cross.
The Clerk was very pleased to represent the Brewers’ Company at this, Her Majesty’s first visit since she was appointed Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Lancers in June last year.
