City Beerfest profits presented to Lord Mayor's Appeal

We had great fun at this year’s City Beerfest, which took place on 11 July in the glorious sunshine in the Guildhall Yard.  With over 50 beers available from 16 breweries, over 4,500 people came out to enjoy the fun.  This month, the Master Brewer, Simon Theakston, was delighted to be able to present the profits from this event to the Lord Mayor’s Appeal in the form of a cheque  for £13,406.  This is the largest amount  ever donated to the Lord Mayor’s Appeal from the City Beerfest!

The Lord Mayor’s Appeal is doing fantastic work supporting three amazing charities: Place2Be, delivering a transformational mental health programme in 180 schools in London; On Side, providing 5 new state of the art Youth Zones in areas of high deprivation in London; and Samaritans, developing a revolutionary online wellbeing programme for employees in London and beyond.

The Brewers’ Company and our partners the City of London Corporation are immensely grateful to the breweries who gave their time and beer in support of this event.  We hope that we will see you in the Guildhall Yard on Thursday 2 July for City Beerfest 2020!
