HMS ALBION became an affiliate of The Brewers' Company in 2002. The pennant number of the ship is L14 which corresponds with the number of the Brewers' Company in the ranking of the City livery companies. The ship was launched by HRH the Princess Royal on 9 March 2001, and is an Albion-class Landing Platform Dock.

The Commanding Officer of the ship is appointed an Honorary Liveryman of the Brewers' Company for the duration of command.

From time to time Liverymen of the Brewers' Company are given the opportunity to go on board the ship; news is shared between the Company and the ship's crew, and in 2007 the Brewers' Company instigated the HMS ALBION – Brewers' Company Award.
